Touch the shutter lightly and scroll upwards. The camera will zoom in the Photo option, but not in the Portrait option. Turning on grid you also give crosshairs for getting the iPhone level Use this when copying a document on a level surface.

Interesting to check and learn my preference to set the Vol buttons for zoom isn’t available on iPhones (maybe with third-party apps?) Handshake can be a major blur factor for longer low-light or HDR and where possible I like to use a short self-timer for a few secs to stabilize the handset after the shutter press.
